Gastric Plication

Gastric plication is a weight loss surgery where the stomach is folded and stitched to reduce its size by about 70%, without removing any tissue. This helps you feel full after eating much smaller portions and can lead to significant weight loss over time.

Gastric plication, also known as laparoscopic greater curvature plication (LGCP), is a restrictive bariatric procedure that folds the greater curvature of the stomach inward and sutures it in place, reducing gastric volume without resection or implantation of a foreign device. It aims to replicate the restrictive effect of sleeve gastrectomy while being potentially reversible and avoiding staple lines.
