Duodenal-Jejunal Bypass Liner (EndoBarrier)

A thin, flexible sleeve that is placed inside the first part of the small intestine during a short camera-guided procedure. It stops food from touching this part of the gut for up to a year, changing appetite and digestion hormones to help you feel full and lose weight.

An endoscopically implanted, impermeable fluoropolymer liner that lines the proximal duodenum and proximal jejunum, creating a mechanical barrier that prevents chyme from contacting the intestinal mucosa. This mimics the hormonal changes of Roux-en-Y gastric bypass, reducing glucose absorption and altering incretin secretion, which improves glycaemic control and induces weight loss. The device is removed endoscopically after up to 12 months.
