Survodutide

Survodutide is a new investigational weight loss medication that works on two hormone receptors at once — GLP-1 and glucagon — to help reduce appetite and increase the body’s energy burning. It is given as a once-weekly injection and is being studied for both obesity and fatty liver disease.

Survodutide is a dual GLP-1/glucagon receptor agonist in phase 3 clinical development for obesity. Unlike pure GLP-1 agonists, the addition of glucagon receptor agonism is intended to increase energy expenditure through enhanced lipolysis and thermogenesis, complementing the appetite-suppressing and glycaemic effects of GLP-1 agonism.
